Divorce in The State of Florida
If you are contemplating getting a divorce in the state of Florida, you have probably considered all the various options about not just what your life will look like over the course of getting a divorce, but how your life could be changed after the divorce is over.
Keeping custody of your children and having regular visitation time with the children you love so much is often a top concern for both parents coming to the offices of an experienced Naples family lawyer. Regardless of your current situation, it’s natural to want to protect your ability to interact with your children as much as possible.
A new study finds that Florida may be one of the best states across the country for those fathers who want to receive shared custody of their kids.
A software company that specializes in scheduling for custody issues, found that not all states are created equal, but that those living in Florida have a better chance to get 50-50 custody of their children. Several other states were named as top locations to get shared and relatively equal time with their children; and the worst states in the country for fathers who are seeking equal time or shared custody include Mississippi, Oklahoma, Illinois, and Georgia.
The study found that nationwide, a father is likely to receive about 35% of the child custody time. Parents who are concerned about maximizing their time with their children and ensuring that the children’s best interests are represented throughout all of the hearings, pre and post-divorce, will want to schedule a consultation with an experienced Naples family lawyer who will help you protect your rights throughout the entire case.
